This weeks question - What is the most unusual protein you have cooked with?
Mine is probably ham hocks, the meaty part of a pigs leg. I have used it in a Brazilian soup recipe that the family loves on a cold winters night.

that's so fun that you get your family involved in dinner time. do you feel like it helps with picky eaters? what a fun little tradition!
Yea I think it helps a little and also makes the kids feel like they are in control even a little bit. Plus then when everyone enjoys the meal, they always take credit for it...even though I did all the cooking.
Can I ask... what are funeral potatoes? I've never heard of them.... are they an american thing? I'm in Canada
